Bad news from the medical department of FC Barcelona:


Leo Messi pulled a muscle and being declared unfit to play for at least ten days. The Barça youngster has to rest for 10 days and will miss next Sunday's match against Valencia at Mestalla.
The medical report showed that Leo Messi has a first degree pulled muscle in the femoral biceps of his left leg and will take about ten days to recover.


Additionally Barca´s Rafael Marquez is in doubt


Rafael Márquez, who has been revealed to have pulled muscles in both legs. The Barça defender receives physiotherapy and will continue the preventative programme. Whether or not he can travel with the Barça team to Valencia will depend on the results after another medical check-up on Thursday.


Sylvinho and Deco rested, Belletti recovering and Thiago Motta with excellent progress


Deco and Sylvinho were both not attending Monday's recuperation session due to physical problems, Deco having trouble with tendons in his right knee, while Sylvinho also pulled a muscle. Belletti's Achilles tendon problems are recovering well. Barça´s right full back should be able to train again this week. Thiago Motta makes excellent progress from his meniscectomy and after special treatment he should be able to start training with the Barça team much earlier than expected.
