Barça TV will broadcast an international version of six hours-a-week derived from the 12 hours-a-day programming of the official Barça channel. Barça TV produces an international programme for foreign viewers that do not have the benefit of watching and listening to all the Barça distributed inside the country. The Content of the international Barça TV programmes will include the main news, a selection of programmes, the Barça Toons and highlights from the team's matches. The programe will be in English, as well as a version of the programmes being sent out in the original format to enable other countries to dub into their own language. The channel's signal is sent out by the Eutelsat satellite, which covers the whole of Europe, the Middle East and some parts of North Africa.

Marc Ingla, FC Barcelona´s vice-president of marketing, explained:"This agreement is an historic milestone that allows thousands of fans across the world to share the spectacle of our team, thank to the distribution agreements that we are closing for our programmes. It allows us to reinforce Barça TV as a strategic asset of the club in order to spread the name of Barcelona across the world".


Four new countries signed up for the Barça TV this week. Barça TV has concluded the new agreements that will allow Serbia & Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia and Slovenia to gain access to the club's television channels. This agreement is made with the main terrestrial stations in each of the four countries and will be able to reach four million homes and around 18 million people. The stations involved are RTS & Montena (Serbia & Montenegro), OBN (Bosnia & Herzegovina), TV4 (Macedonia) and PRVA TV (Slovenia), who will all offer six hours of programmes a week.


This deal was concluded after other agreements have been made last summer between FC Barcelona and JSports as well as TPS to broadcast the programmes of Barça TV in Japan and France. Barça TV is already broadcasting in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. The target is to extend the coverage to 30 countries in total, including countries in Asia and Latin America in particular, where exists is a huge demand from fans to see Barça TV.
