Germany's leading weekly Sport Magazine "Sport-Bild" reported in their Wednesday edition today that German Champions Bayern Munich have set their eyes on Barça star Mark van Bommel if Munich's Michael Ballack leaves the german giants in the summer. It seems that Bayern´s goalgetter Roy Makaay had been in contact with his dutch national team mate Van Bommel and confirms:
Yes, I have spoken with Mark about Bayern Munich.
Felix Magath is convinced that the Barça midfielder could be the right choice to replace Michael Ballack, who received offers from Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea FC so far. Bayern Munich coach Felix Magath said:
Mark van Bommel is a good footballer, has a winner´s mentality and has personality
. Magath added:
Van Bommel adds value to any top team, otherwise he would not play for the Dutch National Team and FC Barcelona.
Michael Ballack, who was offered a stunning € 36 Mio. contract for 5 years has not decided yet and insiders believe he will leave Bayern Munich for free after the World Cup 2006 in Germany.
