He scored 17 more goals in a further 58 matches over the following two seasons, whilst in his final two campaigns with Mallorca he altered his record by 31 goals more in 62 games.

On the last day of the last season he just missed out on the "pichichi" trophy (Best Goalscorer Award in La Liga) with 25 goals in 37 games to Villareal striker Diego Forlan. This season he is clear at the top of the goal scoring table, having scored 22 goals in 26 matches. second is David Villa, Valencia, with 16 goals.
