FC Barcelona fans should vote referee Rodríguez Santiago and linesman Rafa Guerrero as best players (defenders) of FC Malaga. Yes, the referee and lines man did it again. Rodriguez Santiago, the infamous referee who sent off Ronaldinho in the Copa del Rey match against Real Zaragozza after the Barca star mad a normal foul in midfield did not see that a Malaga defender played the ball with his hand and disallowed Eto'o superb strike after he took advantage of the situation. It was a correct goal but at least a penalty. But instead, the referee consulted his lines man and after decided to disallow the goal. Both, referee and linesman did not see what any spectator could see in the stadium or at TV. But why do these 2 officials not see this? I think that Stevie Wonder would have done a much better job than this!
I have been last Tuesday at Camp Nou to see Barca v Getafe and before the game the stadium speaker announced that on this evening the players and spectators should honour the good work of the referees. The players had to line up and the match officials where entering the pitch thereafter. 70,000 Barca fans where whistling, booing and yelling because they feel that Barca has been historically not treated fair by the referees even after Franco´s dead in 1976. Ironically, the match on Tuesday against Getafe was very good and entertaining but the performance of the referee not! People who have seen the match yesterday know why the Barca fans are not happy with the match officials and I am sure that the next "good will gesture" towards referees in Camp Nou will provoke similar reactions like on Tuesday. So, stop these ridiculous ceremonies at Camp Nou before Madrid sends better referees to the Barca matches.
