Finally the election date for a new Merengue-Chief at Bernabeu is set:

2nd of July 2006

The Football Club Real Madrid has announced that the new presidential elections will be held on July 2, to end the embarrassing saga and farce about who will lead the club into the future. The club is looking for a permanent leader following the resignations of former president Florentino Perez and his successor Fernando Martin in April. Fernando Martin had only been in charge of the Merengues for two months, having replaced Florentino Perez who resigned in February but had to step down after an embarrassing defeat in prelimanary elections last month.
