Arsenal´s defender Ashley Cole has got some bad and painful memories about Barcelona´s superstar Ronaldinho.


They clashed in the quarterfinals of the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan when Brazil beat England and Ronaldinho was the hero of the match. Ronaldinho demonstrated a blistering performance and troubled the English defence with the ball at his feet before he set up Rivaldo for the equaliser and then scored the incredible winner himself. Probably one of the goals, England and arsenal fans will never forget.

After 4 years, Arsenal´s Ashley Cole could face up to Ronaldinho again in tonights final, if Arsenal coach Wenger feels he is fit enough to play in the "big match". Ronaldinho has matured a lot during this time and has established himself as the world´s best player. It'll be interesting to see what Ronaldinho could do to Ashley Cole this time:

"I fell for one of his stepovers at the World Cup. He nearly put me on the floor. He is an amazing player but hopefully it brings out the best in you when you play against the best in the world."

But Cole admitted that it is not all about Ronaldinho and that there are other Barca players, who can play football too:

"It's not just Ronaldinho but Eto'o and Deco plus other great players and it is going to be a tough game."
