Maxi Lopez´s agent Dario Bombardini believes that the young Barca striker could be on his way out of Barcelona to join Villarreal. The tall Barca striker has had limited opportunities at Camp Nou last season and is frustrated with being denied of regular football by his coach Frank Rijkaard. Maxi had only two Primera Liga starts at the end of last season and a move to Villareal could be a good option and very likely due to the fact he knows coach Manuel Pellegrini from his days at River Plate. There are many clubs linked to the talented center forward, especially from Spain, Argentina and the English Premiership. A host of clubs across the continent have been linked with Lopez, while he has also attracted attention from South America. Bombardini commented on Maxi´s unhappiness at Barcelona:
"Until recently Maxi wanted to stay at Barcelona because he thought he would get some chances to play but now we know that they want to buy another striker he would accept a transfer or loan deal. Maxi would like to play at Villarreal because he has known the coach Manuel Pellegrini since they worked together at River Plate. I think that would be the best choice for Maxi thinking ahead to the new season."

FC Barcelona Blog: A transfer of Maxi to Villarreal could make a lot of sense when Diego Forlan would move the other direction to FC Barcelona.
