FC Barcelona midfielder José Edmílson suffered a serious knee injury and it will take the player about 6-8 weeks to recover. The surgery on his knee, done by Doctor Gomes de Moraes in the Hospital Do Coraçao in Sao Paulo, Brazil proved that the injury is different and has nothing in common with the serious injury Edmílson suffered in his first season with FC Barcelona in 2004-05.
The world cup in Germany is over for Brazilian world champion José Edmílson and the Barca player will start a specific recovery programme as he intends to be fit for pre-season matches.

It is predicted that the player will take six to eight weeks to recover full fitness."
Barca´s Mexican defender Marquez also expressed sadness at Barcelona team-mate Edmilson's injury and revealed: "I was very sad when I found out. I spoke with Deco immediately, because I know that the two are very close friends, and we must all keep his spirits up."
