FC Barcelona and RCD Mallorca have agreed terms for Barca player Fernando Navarro to be transferred to Mallorca.
Barça will hold 30% of the financial rights on the player, should he be transferred to another club in the future. Fernando Navarro, who´s current contract with FC Barcelona would have expired in June 30, 2007 went on loan to RCD Mallorca in the 2004-05 season. The young Catalan defender was a regular starter in the Mallorca team and played 33 matches as a left back defender.
Fernando Navarro Corbacho was born in Barcelona on June 25, 1982. He joined FC Barcelona as a youth player in 1993 and is a home grown product of the excellent youth development at Barca. He played first team football at Barca for three seasons. Navarro mad his debut under coach Carles Rexach against Deportivo la Coruña in the season 2001-02.
Dutch Barca coach Louis Van Gaal developed Navarro into a regular first team member in 2002-03, but a serious knee injury stopped his spectacular progress immediately and he was out for almost a year due to this injury. Barca coach Frank Rijkaard loaned out the talented defender Fernando Navarro to Albacete at the beginning of 2004 and last season he spent the entire campaign successfully in Mollarca. He helped Mallorca to avoid relegation and the Balearic Club was keen on securing his services on a permanent basis.
