After Doctor Jordi Ardèvol has stepped down as manager of the FC Barcelona Medical department a few days ago, doctor Ramon Canal has been appointed as the new head of FC Barcelona's medical services. The appointment is part of the restructuring process to continue the improvement of this fundamental area for the 2006-07 season.

45 year old Dr. Ramon Canal graduated in medicine from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (1985) and also has postgraduate qualifications in Health administration from the ESADE Business School (1986) and Barcelona University (1987). He has held a number of important positions in hospitals throughout Catalonia and from 2003 to 2006 was a senior civil servant in the Generalitat de Catalunya.
