Portugal will play England in the World Cup quarter-finals in Germany after midfielder Maniche scored the only but superb first half goal for Portugal to beat Holland 1-0.

But the story of the match was a remarkably undisciplined display from both sides that started with Costinha being sent off at the end of the first period and saw a record 16 yellow and 4 red cards shown by the referee.
Barca player Deco received one of the red cards (Costinha (P), Boulahrouz (H) and Gio (H) the others). However, Deco´s Portugal sent Giovanni Van Bronckhorst and Mark Van Bommel home.

After Saviola and Messi, Deco is the third Barca player to proceed to the quarter finals. Gio and Van Bommel are Barca player No. 3 and 4 who can leave for their deserved holidays.
