FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta took in an interview with the media the opportunity to congratulate the newly elected Merengue president Ramon Calderón and added his clear personal message:
"Congratulations to Ramon Calderón. I hope he can manage the club as well as possible for their interests but when our interests clash with theirs, we'll try and make sure we always come out winning".
