Betis Sevilla is interested in signing Barca player Damià Abella and started talks.
Also Espanyol had been in contact with Barca directors over a possible switch of Damià to their city rivals, but Espanyol officials stopped negotiations due to Barca´s high asking price.
Damia, currently on loan for another year at Racing Santander, is out due to injury for probably another 2 month, but this does not stop Betis showing their interest in the versatile right wing player.
Damià continues to work very hard on his recovery from a hip operation. Barca player Damià had surgery on his right hip May 27, at the Camp Nou facilities Asistencia Sanitaria Colegial.
Damià spent the second half of last season on loan at Racing Santander, after moving in the winter transfer window. He had an excellent season and helped Racing Santander to stay in the top flight of Primera Liga. Damià scored three goals as a right full back.
