Betis Sevilla has agreed personal terms with Damià Abella and FC Barcelona over his transfer to the Andalucian club.

Yesterday, Damià went to Sevilla for his medical and the final negotiations of his personal terms. He passed the medical examination and the Betis doctors have been happy with Damia´s progress after his hip surgery. They also agreed the final details of his personal terms.
The transfer of the Barca player, who emerged from Barca´s youth ranks, is close but not perfect. Damià is still on loan for another year at Racing Santander, who could oppose the transfer from Barcelona to Betis. As far as Racing Santander is concerned, generally the Club is very happy with Damià, who was a regular starter for the team last year and helped the Cantabrians to avoid relegation but Racing were on the understanding that the player is seeking a permanent move to Betis.

In this case, Racing would look for reasonable financial compensation for the loss of the player or a substitution of Damià with a player of similar qualities. Barca is negotiating the final details of the transfer with Betis and Racing but would include an option to be able to repurchase the talented player, if necessary. Damià himself has been very prudent and silence about the transfer, first in respect to Racing who he is grateful to because the Cantabrian Club provided him with the chance of experiencing Primera Liga football and of course, due to the fact that a transfer deal has not been completed yet.
