The Barça president, Joan Laporta, warned that the judgement of the court and the consequence to step down will have an influence on the club: "The judgement will have consequences in the running of the club. The agreement to place the INICEF Logo on the shirt was set up to be signed on 11th of August in the United Nations and now that, regrettably, cannot take place".

Laporta believes that the basketball department will be most effected, due to the fact that the signing of players is not completed yet: "This judgement affects other areas, like basketball. I am sure that as the Managing Commission will be led by Xavier Sala i Martin, that no type of mis-management will take place at the club. I have complete confidence in him and Francesc Solanellas, as well as Zoran Savic, who is in charge of the basketball, and in the Director General of FC Barcelona, to avoid, as I have said before, any type of anarchy and to keep things on track in all areas."
