FC Barcelona had a successful trip to Denmark. In their first pre-season friendly against homeside AGF Aarhus Barca won comfortable 3-0. Eidur Gudjohnsen made a very good debut for the club but Mexican youngster Giovanni Dos Santos was the sensation. Alongside Gudjohnsen also Marc Crosas, Lluís Sastre, Giovanni Dos Santos and Lorenzo Riera made their debut for the Barca first team. The goals have been scored by Dos Santos, Ezquerro and an own goal by Andreas Schultz. Samuel Eto'o, Juliano Belletti, Víctor Valdés and Edmílson all remained on the bench. The Cameroon striker Eto'o only returned to training on Monday after an extended break and the match came to early despite having been working on the physical fitness with Albert Roca. Barca's medical team decided that Edmílson should be rested as a precaution after the Brazilian midfielder picked up a small injury in training earlier in the week.
