Barça added the second victory of the pre-season campaign by beating Tigres 0-3. Barca played a great match and was always in control. Ronaldinho, just back in pr-eseason training since tuesday was the star of the game to the delight of 43,000 fans. Ronaldinho, sored the second and played a part in Gudjohnsenßs third goal. With some players only back since a couple of days training, Barça demonstrated in Mexico why they are the Champions League winners in Europe. A very effective and teamorientated performance lead to a comfortable win. Barca coach Rijkaard used 22 players and as a surprise also Saviola received his chance to show his skills.
Márquez and Giovani, the two Mexican players in Barca´s team received the most of applause of the fans.
Barca took the lead by an own goal of Balderos in the 7th minute. Balderos volleyed the ball over his goalkeeper Hernandez into the net. In the first half, Samuel Etóo and Giovani dos Santos created the most danger and both players proved that they already are in very good physical condition. Another outstanding player in the first 45 minutes has been Víctor Valdés. The Barca goalkeeper saved a penalty from Saritama in the 19th minute. Apart from this decisive situation, Valdés also denied Tigres on three clear cut occasions. After Rijkaard put on Sylvinho, Motta, Giuly, Gudjohnsen and Saviola, in addition to young goalkeeper Rubén, the fans had the desire to see superstar Ronaldinho entering the pitch. On minute 63 the moment arrived, when Rijkaard brought Ronaldinho into the game. The home crowd were extatic and greeted Barca´s No. 10 with standing ovations. It took only 7 minutes for Ronaldinho to prove, that the ticket price was worth each single Cent. Ronaldinho got himself a freekick and converted it with a superb shot around the wall hitting the post and into the goal. Just 7 minutes later, it was Eidur Gudjohnsen´s first goal in a Barca shirt, that sealed the 3-0 victory over Tigres.
Considering, that the international players have only been for a very short time in pre-season training, it was a very convincing performance.
Barca is on the right track to challenge all trophies.
Now we are waiting for Zambrotta, Thuram and Deco to complete the squad.
We suppose, Barca fans will have a great time ahead in the seson 2006/2007.
