Frank Rijkaard has been satisfied with the 3-0 victory against Tigres in Monterrey, Mexico.


He expressed his delight, also on the back that many players have returned only recently from their holidays. Frank Rijkaard was pleased with the good performance shown on the pitch:

"I am happy because we have won and that a lot of players were given a run-out. There were a lot of differences between the players though. It is a good result because you have to bear in mind that we are still not at the desired level."

Barca coach Rijkaard was full of praise for Mexican youngster Giovani dos Santos, who showed an extraodinary display of his squills and speed in the firast 45 minutes:

"He has played very well, with good discipline. He has shown that he has a lot of talent and that if he carries on like that then he will have a great future. He must be given time in order to fully develop."

Follow up:

Dutchman Rijkaard was also happy with new signing Eidur Gudjohnsen from Chelsea. Gudjohnsen scored the third goal in Barca´s 3-0 victory and the Barca boss praised the Icelandic International´s goal scoring ability:

"It was a good goal. He finished it very well and I am pleased he has opened his goal scoring account."

The great atmosphere inside the stadium was another positive point for Rijkaard:

"The best thing that can happen in friendlies is to have an atmosphere like that. When it is like that, then it is perfect for all the players to show what they can do."
