Thuram overwhelmed by reception: "Nothing like that happened ever before!"

New signing Lilian Thuram was overwhelmed by the warm reception of his new Barca teammates and is very excited about starting to play the first match for FC Barcelona.
The French defender Thuram jetted out to Los Angeles to join up with the rest of Barcelona´s first team squad in the USA. Upon his arrival at training he received hugs from several of the players and applauded as he walked onto the football pitch. The 34-year-old veteran player admitted that he did not expect such a warm reception:

It is the first time I have ever seen that. Nothing like that has ever happened at any of the teams that I have played for. I think this team is very united, and I am excited about the prospect of playing at a club where the objective is to win everything. Any player at Barcelona has just one target: to win. It is the only desire that anyone here has.
