FC Barcelona left New York straight after their 4-1 victory over the Red Bulls and landed at Barcelona-Prat Airport at 14:00 (CET) on Sunday after an eight-hour flight. Barca coach Frank Rijkaard gave the players sunday and Monday off, to allow them to recover from the long flight and a tiring 13-day trip through Mexico and the USA.
The Barca squad will start training on Tuesday morning, 10:00 am but will have a second unit in the afternoon. The training sessions will purely focus on the team's first official game against Espanyol in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup Final. The fist leg will be played on Thursday (22:00 local time) in the Estadi Olimpic at Montjuïc. The return leg takes place on Sunday at Camp Nou(22:00 local time).
