I had a good laugh yesterday during Barca´s Super Cup match against Espanyol, when Barca´s Italian world champion, Gianluca Zambrotta came onto the pitch in the 80th minute.
Espanyol fans may have been very disappointed with their team´s second half performance and the 0-1 result at this time but for sure they had not lost their sense of humor. In the moment Zambrotta entered the field, some "Pericos" raised a huge banner with big letters saying: "Zambrotta Prendi El Bus" that simply means "Zambrotta, take the bus".

New signings Gianluca Zambrotta and Lilian Thuram made their first experience about the rivalry and what a city derby Espanyol - Barca really means. Zambrotta and Thuram wanted to take a taxi right from the airport to their hotel after the arrival from the pre-season tour in the United States. Zambrotta was shocked when the Espanyol-supporting taxi driver refused to take the pair to their hotel, simply because he plays for Barca.

We should warn Zambrotta here and let him know what the rivalry between Barca and Real Madrid means. Or would it be better to ask Luis Figo direct?
Anyway, French teammate Lilian Thuram took the "taxi incident" with humour:

We just picked the wrong taxi!

By the way "Pericos", the next time you put up a funny sign, make sure you spell the words right. In correct Italian, the banner should have said:

Zambrotta, Prendi Il Bus!
