Yesterday evening Joan Laporta has been re-elected and confirmed as President of FC Barcelona and will serve another 4 years as the head of the club. Laporta's main aim is to continue with the successful policies of the last three years and promissed his determination to bring more sporting, financial and social success to the Club:
We accept the responsibility of managing Barca, of dedicating the best years of our live to Barca, with efficient policies that are giving us sporting success, a financial boom and exciting the fans and making them proud. We have the satisfaction of saying that in three years we have two league titles, the Champions League and two Super Cups.
We want to promote the values that Barca represents, such as solidarity and Catalan nationalism. That might mean, winning the Champions League every year. We all feel proud, when we say Barca is "More than a Club, because it means projecting the image of the Catalan people around the world. We have set ourselves the aim of making Barca the reference for a socially committed club, bringing aid to people and especially children. We've already started to do this with the agreement with UNICEF that appears on the shirt. It's a way of manifesting the soul of Barca, a Catalan soul. 
President Laporta´s financial target is to increase renvenues up to € 400 mill. in the 2009/10 season.
Joan Laporta thanked the Barca members for his strong support and also thanked the people who have helped him during the election campaign.
