SearchSuccesful official Debut of Summer Signings Zambrotta and Gudjohnsen30th August 2006 Every start of a new Barca season has also been marked by the official debut of the summer signings. This year´s new signings are former Juventus defenders Gianluca Zambrotta (for € 14 mill.) and Lilian Thuram (for € 5 mill.), as well as former Chelsea forward Eidur Gudjohnsen (for € 14 mill.). Zambrotta and Gudjohnsen made their successful debut on Monday against Celta while veteran defender Lilian Thuram did not appear yet but was sitting on the bench. Italian Zambrotta started the game against Celta and showed his strong physical presence and contributed throughout the 90 minutes that he was on the field. The Icelandic forward Gudjohnsen came on as a substitute for Ludovic Giuly 15 minutes before the end and scored a stunning, winning goal.
