FC Barcelona´s new defender Lilian Thuram was sensational on his debut against CA Osasuna on Saturday evening and played as if he had been playing for Barca since years. Thuram delighted the Barca faithfuls with a cool, calm, almost perfect display in the heart of the Barcelona defence.

The Difference of Italian and Spanish Football

It's very different, for sure, but I think the way players look at the ball is what changes most. In Italy, teams are more closed, the attackers think more about defending and here they think more about playing with the ball.

The emotional Debut:

I was very happy to play because it was the first time and it was very important to do it in front of my people, It was very emotional.

Replacing Barca captian Carles Puyol:

I don't think it gave me more responsibility. The coach has picked me to start and as there are so many of us we are all going to take part. One player doesn't have the responsibility of another, he should play for himself and to make the team better.

Communication on the Football Pitch:

With Marquez I speak in French and with Edmílson as well. With the others a few words are enough because during the game you don't get to say long sentences. The most important thing is to talk about it beforehand.

Champions League favourites:

Barca are favourites because they won last year but it shouldn't be anymore than Real Madrid, Bayern, Milan and Inter because this is another competition.
