Here are the comments made after the 1-1 gainst Valencia last night.


Barca captain Carles Puyol:

We knew that we were facing a very good team. At 0-1 the team worked well and fought hard to draw level. We battled on until the final minute. There are days when you win and days that you do not. There was a difference between the first and second halves. Valencia did their job and they are dangerous on the counter-attack if you lose possession and after losing a lot of balls in the first half we slowed down out of fear. We had to risk a bit and start attacking and he did very well. It is a long season and we have to keep on working.

FC Barcelona goalkeeper Víctor Valdés:
We could only draw which was bad luck. We played better in the second half. We went in search of the win all the time, but these things happen in football. In the second half we changed and had a lot of chances and as the game progressed we became stronger. Valencia are a very competitive team and well-organised and we had to work hard to create chances.


Italian right full back Gianluca Zambrotta:

We played well, but we were much stronger in the second half. The first one was a bit slow. After the first goal it was difficult to find space. It was not easy in defence, but the whole team worked hard.

Goalscorer and "Joker" Andrés Iniesta:

In the second half we moved up a gear and could have won. It was an intense game. It is difficult to create a lot of opportunities against Valencia, who are a strong team.
