FC Barcelona still have it in their own hands to qualify for the round of last 16 in the Champions League after last night´s 2-2 draw with Chelsea.
Chelsea FC tops the table of Group A on 10 points, followed by Grman outfit Werder Bremen with 7 points and Barca on 3rd position with 5 points. levski is last and without chance to qualify for the next round.
Six more points are left to play for and with two wins, away in Sofia against Levski and at home to Werder Bremen, Barca will be guaranteed a place in the next round. Depending on results, a win and a draw or even a win a defeat could be enough.
To make it through in second place, Barça have to win their next game in Sofia against Levski. If Chelsea then win at Werder Bremen on the same night, Barca will only need a draw in the final match against the Germans. If Barcelona draw against Levski and Werder draw at Chelsea, then the last group match in December against Werder will become crucial and Brca will have to win. But Barca cold also lose in Sofia as long as Chelsea win against Bremen in the next match. then again, Barca has to win in the last match against Werder Bremen at Camp Nou.
The worst case scenario is, Levski win or draw against Barça and Werder defeat Chelsea, which would see Barca out of the competition even before they have to play Bremen in December.
Positive is that Barca has it all in their own hands. Simply, two wins means, Barca do not depend on anybody else. Barca will have a big advantage: The match against Werder Bremen is at Camp Nou and Barca have not lost at home for over 3 years.
