FC Barcelona manager Frank rijkaard believes that Ronaldinho deserved to be named FIFPro´s Player of the Year and is very pleased for the player to win the prestigious award:
It is an honour that your peers choose you. The way he has played has been very important. Sometimes we only see footballers for what they do on the field, but they are human beings. For me it is very important to see more than their ability and I am very pleased with him. This award is another credit. But he does not need the motivation to come from other people as we already know what he is capable of doing.
