FC Barcelona forward Santi Ezquerro is determined to show everybody why Barca coach Frank Rijkaard brought him to Camp Nou during the summer 2005. Ezquerro did not feature a lot at Barca, starting only 4 matches last season and playing only 9 minutes as a substitute this current season, often not even named in the squad. But the former Athletic Bilbao forward believes that his time has finally come and he is looking forward to prove everybody that he can help the team in a very difficult time.

Ezquerro rejected any tempting offer so far from other clubs, who wanted to hand him a life-line back into football and always showed a professional attitude towards the team and the coach. Santiago Ezquerro revealed this it is not easy for him, not playing in the first team, but that he is determined not to give up his Barca career without a fight:
In 10 years in the Primera Liga, I have practically always played, but I have chosen to remain here to show why they signed me. Right now, is the sort of time when we need to show that a great club like FC Barcelona has an ample squad with plenty of quality players to make up for this sort of injury problem.

I don’t like having this chance given to me because team-mates have been injured, but I just have to put the reasons why I have my chance now to one side and get on with the job of helping the team out.
