FC Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard was obviously disappointed by losing out to bring home the Cup that so many Barca fans desired. Here are his post match comments on the official press conference:

We can only congratulate Internacional because they played very strongly until they won the game. Although it looked like FC Barcelona had more possession of the ball, the opposition was very solid, and waited for their chances. Most of the chances we had in the six yard box were defended very well by the other team.
All I said before the match turned out to be true. Recently, European teams have found it very hard to win these games. So, I can't say I am surprised. Now we need to get our strength back as quickly as possible, because we still have a lot of outstanding issues to resolve.
This is one of the complicated parts of life a sportsperson has to go through and you have to take it the best way you can. It is a personal failure for me because it was a wasted opportunity. But these hard times help you to respond, and we are very eager to carry on working together. You can't evaluate a team on the strength of one game alone, but Barça didn't work right, because we were unable to play the way we like to.

Deco has come into this with the right mentality and has taken his responsibilities. He deserved this award, he has shown that he is a player with a lot of personality on the pitch.
