FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta has spoken publicly for the first time about the possibility for new elections soon. A court decision demanded that FC Barcelona has to hold call new presidential elections immediately due to the fact that the mandate to govern world´s biggest football club has expired since 30th of June. Barca president Laporta officially stated that a board meeting has been called and action will follow shortly: "I’ve called a meeting for today and after the board meets we’ll communicate exactly how we’ll approach the elections issue. We’ll try to ensure that common sense and the interests of FC Barcelona prevail, which is our obligation. The news that we received has spread quickly, but we must act with prudence and respect the fact that everybody on the board has to have their say. This is a delicate matter that requires precise evaluation and analysis before we commit ourselves to any action. Soon we’ll make a decision that corresponds to the judicial decision and inform all Barcelona fans and members of the club what will happen, but only after calm reflection and thought."

It is rumoured that the Barca board is looking at the 9th or 10th of September for new elections, a date that lies at the end of the time period set by the judge Roberto García.

He does not have to promise anything because he was very successful, like him or not. Actually, under his presidency we won the European Cup against... hm, let me think, ahh... it was boring Arsenal with Henry. Seems, he is not the guy for the big stage. And he proved it again in the world cup.
We have no problem with it (but it seems that you have!): we keep the European Cup and challenge for 6 major trophies - you keep Henry, so you can fight with the Spurs for 4th.
I am absolutely happy with this!
