86-years-old Culé Josep Boada Uya has become the new member with the number 1 on his membership card, after a recent update of the membership list by FC Barcelona. Josep Boada is the oldest member of the club, an honour which was previously held by Miquel Botey, who unfortunately passed away on the 4th of May 2006, aged 97. Mr. Boada, from the Eixample of Barcelona, is a "Soci" of FC Barcelona since 1st of September 1923 when he was only 2 years old. The new No. 1 member was interviewed by Barca TV:

Barca TV: What does it mean to you being member number 1?

Josep Boada: I am very happy. My father was a passionate supporter of the club and I quickly caught on. The moment my children were born, they too became members of the club.

Barca TV: How many stadiums have you seen Barça play in?

Josep Boada: I saw them play their last few games at the carrer Industria stadium. After that, I saw many games at the Les Corts stadium and finally at Camp Nou. When I was young I didnt miss a game - even if it was raining.

Barca TV: Do you still see as many games?

Josep Boada: This year, Ive only been able to go to one game, but I will see more games when the weather begins to warm up again. When I can't go, I watch all the games on TV at home.

Barca TV: As you have been a member for many years, do you have any special moments which you remember the most?

Josep Boada: I remember one time at the Les Corts stadium, I jumped the fence to go and hug a player; the police arrested me and took me away. I was about to be charged, however, the then president Francesc Miro-Sans had a word with them, and thanks to him, they let me go. It was very emotional for me.

Barca TV: Speaking of emotions, what has been the biggest impact in achieving a second Champions League?

Josep Boada: I saw the game at home and it brought me so much joy. What I liked the most was the way in which the fans lined the streets to show their appreciation of the players when they went through the streets of Barcelona following their victory. This level of support reignited Barcelonism.

Barca TV: FC Barcelona has seen its public image increase over the last few years, for example, with the agreement with UNICEF. What significance do you think this has?

Josep Boada: I like what the club is doing; it shows that FC Barcelona is helping those who are in need of a little help.
