10 players of FC Barcelona will travel to meet their national teams to compete in the qualifiers for Euro 2008, the African Nations Cup and the preparation games for the Americas Cup. Barca coach Frank Rijkaard will be without the majority part of his team over the next few days:
Xavi, Puyol and Iniesta (Spain against Denmark and Iceland), Gianluca Zambrotta (Italy against Scotland), Gio (the Netherlands against Romania and Slovenia), Lilian Thuram (France against Lithuania and Austria), Eidur Gudjohnsen (Iceland against Spain), Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon against Liberia), Rafael Marquez (Mexico against Paraguay and Ecuador) and Ronaldinho (Brazil against Chile and Ghana).
Deco is othe only Blaugrana player who will not play for his national side. Portugal is facing important matches against Belgium and Serbia but the Barca star had surgery on his right hand today and will not be available for selection.
