Barca´s French winger Ludevic Giuly and Brazilian/Italian midfielder Thiago Motta have been called up by FC Barcelona coach Frank rijkaard for the trip to Madrid to face Atletico on Sunday. The injured Mexican defender/midfielder Rafa Marquez will not be able to make the journey to Madrid. Rijkaard also left out Javier Saviola, Santi Ezquerro and Sylvinho.


Giuly and Motta both return for Sunday’s showdown at the Vicente Calderon, after missing out on the last La Liga home match against Betis at the Camp Nou. Giuly was left out of the squad a week ago, while Motta was suffering from an abscess in his right leg. The last time Motta appeared for Barca was on March 31 against Deportivo.


Rijkaard decided to leave out two strikers, Javier Saviola and Santi Ezquerro, while left back Sylvinho has also been dropped for the second week in a row.


Here are the player´s that have been called up by FC Barcelona coach Rijkaard and travel to Madrid: Valdés, Jorquera; Oleguer, Belletti, Zambrotta, Thuram, Puyol, Gio; Edmilson, Deco, Xavi, Iniesta, Motta; Messi, Ronaldinho, Giuly, Eto'o and Gudjohnsen.
