Barcelona continue their build up toward a uper squad as they chase the signature of Rodrigo Palacio.

Argentina's 2006 World Cup player, Rodrigo Palacio is awaiting a contract buy out by his current team, Boca Juniors in order to clear the way for his transfer to Barcelone next season.

The Argentine forward is owned as an investment made by Huracan de Tres Arroyos and a group of investors who own 75% of him,a condition that implies his club will need to buy up this 75% external stake on him before official club to club talks commence. Such investment types and structural ownership of players is common in most footballing nations of South America.

Barca have already made speculations around a Twelve Million Euro offer for Palacio, which was rejected by Boca.

Barcelona sees the 24-year-old Palacio as a potent strike force, having netted an average of 1 goal in every 2 matches for his club in 74 appearances.
