Shake up begins at FC Barcelona as Txiki raises the axe.

FC Barcelona officials have finally decided who has to go and Barca´s technical secretary Txiki Begiristain is expected to meet with the players and their representatives who the Blaugrana have shortlisted to substitute ahead of next season.

This season, Barca won only the Spanish Super Cup and the Catalonia Cup after having targetted 6 major trophies this year.

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta announced major changes and wants to bring in fresh blood this summer. Barca are working currently on the transfers of Thierry Henry (Arsenal), Eric Abidal (Olympic Lyon), Cristian Chivu (AS Roma) and Yaya Toure (AS Monaco).

The list of players that are not wanted anymore at Camp Nou are:

Juliano Belletti, Sylvinho, Thiago Motta, Edmilson, Ludovic Giuly, Santiago Ezquerro, Javier Saviola (will leave on a free transfer), Eidur Gudjohnsen (if suitable offer), Rafa Márquez (if suitable offer) and Lilian Thuram (if suitable offer).

Eidur Gudjohnsen and Javier saviola have been on the transfer news lately. Gudjohnsen indicated interest to step out of not just Camp Nou but Spain as a whole, prefering a return back home to Engalnd, where the Iceland international rose to prominence under Premiership sides Bolton and Cheslea FC. Gudjohnsen this time wants to play for Manchester United, a team his pattern of play seems suited to. West Ham are also said to be interested in the power-playing forward.

Saviola could also join Gudjohnsen at the Premiership, as the Argentine star is refusing to make confirmations on either a move toward Spanish clubs Real Madrid or Real Zaragoza.
