Deportivo defense backbone, Jorge Andrade identifies with FC Barcelona.


Jorge Andrade has once again, sounded it loud and clear to all who care to hear that his heart lies with FC Barcelona and not with Real Madrid.The 29-year old Portuguese defender will be playing in Camp Nou next season if the decision were up to him alone. Andrade knows that club president of Deportivo La Coruna, Augusto Caesar Lendoiro wants to sell him to Real Madrid and he is simply not interested. Andrade says:

This is quite simple. One identifies with a team more than he does wih another. My style of play and game is better suited for Barcelona and I prefer to play for Barca.

Deportivo has been experiencing some financial constraints of late and Andrade sees his own sale as a good move by the club to uplift its finances. He says:

I think Depor have a lot to gain. They can make money from this transfer and it's an opportunity I think they should take.

Barcelona have spotted Jorge Andrade, who is valued at 15 Million Euros, as one of the defenders the Balugrana want to fortify their squad with to ensure a water tight defence next season.

Another key defender, Eric Abidal has also been shortlisted and is being pursued by the Catalans despite complexities in negotiations from Abidal's Club, Olympique Lyon of France.
