The making of a great striker is chronicled prior to his joining FC Barcelona.
Thierry Henry was born to Antoine and Maryse in Paris, france and grew up in the Les Ulis, Essonne neighbourhood of the urbanised area in the city. He was spotted at tender age of six by recruiter, Claude Chezelle, who saw immense potential in the youngster and predicted Henry will become a great footballer in the future. Thierry was groomed at the local neighbourhood club, CO Les Ulis and played his first competitive match at the age of eleven.
Since then, there has been no looking back for the ace striker and his first professional club was AS Monaco who he signed for in 1995 and had his major breakthrough into international reckoning after a sterling performance in the France '98 World Cup earned him a contract with Arsenal FC in 1999.
He is trademarked with wearing the Number 14 jersey and has been offered the same Number at FC Barcelona by the man who wore and made the same shirt number 14 an invaluable and revered object in Camp Nou, the legendary Johan Cruyff.
