Camp Nou shield Deco from transfer speculations.

FC Barcelona officials have rejected offers and news being made in the press for the transfer of Deco, the gifted midfielder who mans the Blaugrana midfield. Speaking for Barcelona, Sporting Director Txiki Begiristain said:

Deco has played wonderfully for Barcelona in all his stay at the club. We shall continue to have him here at Barcelona and he is not for sale or available for transfer.

Recent reports were strongly linking Deco with an exit from Camp Nou, as some cracks emerged between Deco and management, leading to some press statements made by the midfielder which reflected some degree of displeasure in the Barca star. Deco has recently been linked with a move to Serie A Champions, Inter Milan of Italy. A new link to Chelsea FC was recently reported as a supposed move to Stamford Bridge was a second option. This news was heightened with the recent confirmation by Chelsea star, Frank Lampard, that his contract at Stamford Bridge was not going the way he had hoped, insinuating suggestions of an approaching move to FC Barcelona.
