Ahead the August kick-off date for the new season, Barcelona are the most feared team of the moment.


FC Barcelona dependable captain, Carles Puyol can hardly wait for the new soccer season to commence. Puyol is all out to prove, along with his teammates at Barelona, that the Catalan giants are still the best team in the world. The rock-solid defence ace also brings to the mind of opponents, the aspect and the reality of FC Barcelona parading the deadliest attack in world football at the present, which is anchored by Samuel Eto'o and new signing from Arsenal FC, Thierry Henry. Puyol says on the addition of Thierry Henry:

Frank Rijkaard is a good technician. I do not know what exactly Rijkaard is thinking but I believe that Ronaldinho, Messi, Eto'o and Henry can play on the same pitch together. It is an awesome combination. For me, this is the best attack line in the world. The rest of Europe and Spain will be terrified and have nightmares. With the arrival of Henry and other players at Barcelona this summer I am sure we will be the favourites for the Spanish League, as well as the Champions League. Thierry is an expereinced player. I do not have any doubts about his ability to adapt to the Spanish league. A player of his characteristics is able to play in any championship in the world and at any level whatsoever. He is the perfect player for us and Arsenal must be sad at the fact that they have lost Henry, but life must go on.

Puyol drew motivation from the La Liga final day showdown loss of the trophy and said such a heart-breaking incident will only spur Barca to greater heights next season. Puyol states:

The pain and agony from the title loss has made us very determined to win everything next season. We are now a very hungry side and will go out with that hunger and zeal from the first whistle balst next season. All the clubs in England, Italy and Germany must be aware of this fact when ever we meet in Europe. Same goes for all our opponents here in Spain. We are eager to make amends and to make it the right way.
