Gudjohnsen gets his father's blessing to pair Thierry Henry in FC barcelona attack next season.


Eidur Gudjohnsen's dad, Arnor, is insisting his son will be better off at FC Barcelona inspite of Eidur's expressions of an interest the English Premiership, along with strong links to Celtic FC of Glasgow, Scotland. Gudjohnsen jr has Newcastle breathing down his neck, but his father and agent declares that the Iceland international will not only be more suitable at FC Barcelona, but should infact displace Samuel Eto'o in the front pairing with new signing from Arsenal FC, Thierry Henry. Arnor says:

Eidur has the ability to play deep in the front and can compliment Thierry Henry well. In my own judgement, Eidur seems to be a more viable option and striking partner than Samuel Eto'o.
There are many clubs wanting to sign Eidur but my preference still remains his continued stay at Barcelona.

Newcastle FC and Celtic of Scotland are the two most visible clubs associated with Eidur Gudjohnsen, while Manchester United, who were initially the favourites to land the Barca foward, have filtered out of the race for now.
