Barca reportedly considering snapping up young promise, Royston Drenthe.
FC Barcelona have been identified as one of the potentially highly favoured suitors for Dutch youth sensation, Royston Drenthe who plays for in The Netherlands for Dutch top Club, Feyenoord. Drenthe is the current Most Valuable Player for the Eurpean U-21 Championship, where his spectacular football drove the Dutch youths to European victory. The chase for Drenthe is however getting more complicated as other top clubs namely Chelsea FC of England and Spanish team Real Madrid are also intereted in the youth star. While Chelsea FC see Drenthe as a future palyer in the English Premiership who they need to secure now and then loan him to other clubs, Real Madrid see Drenthe as a player the Los Merengues still need to try out, as the Bernabeu officials are thinking of a one-year deal for the Feyenoord star. FC Barcelona want an outright purchase of the youth star, who Barca see as an effective partner for youth stars, Bojan Krkic and Giovanni Dos Santos, who have both been recently promoted to the first team for next seasons campaigns. Bojan is the current Most Valuable Player and joint top scorer for the European U-17 Championship, where he inspired the Spanish U-17 side to Championship victory, similar to what Drenthe did for his country, The Netherlands.
Feyenoord Technical Director, Peter Bosz has not responded to any of the three main offers yet, as the director is indicating that Feyenoord have serious intentions to retain 20 year-old Drenthe, who is reportedly valued at 6 Million Euros. Bosz however said that Feyenoord will speak to Royston Drenthe about his future when the young star returns from his summer holiday.
