Barca star speaks on team motivation, fitness and new player Toure.


Xavi Hernandez has expressed certainty that FC Barcelona will come out very strong when the new season commences. With a combination of new and old players, the reliable midfielder is poised to put behind the disappointments of last season and move on to greater heights in the La liga and the European Champions League. Xavi also speaks for the rest of the Barca team, saying :

The mood in Barca is very positive. Everyone is ready to go after a season when we were not always at our best. The players are pushing themselves in training and excited to be back in action and looking to create good foundations. The tour this year is special, because we have so many challenges after how things eventually turned out last season.

Xavi also spoke of new signing Toure Yaya, saying :

Toure is a player that gives the team balance and protects the midfield. He uses the ball well and keeps the game flowing, showing he is not only a physical player but skillful and very technical as well. At the moment there is neither a starting team nor substitutes. A large squad is needed as the club will have to play at weekends and in midweek.
