Eidur Gudjohnsen braces up for battle royale in FC Barcelona's attack.

After seemingly playing prodigal for a brief moment, Barca striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has towed the line of his father, Arnor Gudjohnsen, in demanding a place in FC Barcelona through a sit-tight action at Camp Nou. Eidur, who is being chased by English premiership clubs West ham United and Newscastle United, now wnats to remain at FC Barcelona and fight for place with the likes of Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi Bojan Krkic and Giovanni Dos Santos. The Icelandic star, who is currently injured, did not feature as regularly as he would have hoped to last season, and believes his chances will be better this season despite a more bolstered Barca attacking line. Another striker, Javier Saviola has already left for Real Madrid, while Ludovic Giuly has resumed his career at Italy with Serie A giants, AS Roma. Motta, Maxi and Ezquerro are all also set to leave Barca, though no official transfers on any of the three has yet been finalised. Arnor believes his son, Eidur can still get a place in Barcelona and is proposing a rotational formula among the strikers at Camp Nou, a suggestion which might not be accepted by Coach Frank Rijkaard.
