Maxi Lopez, the first of four players to leave Barca this summer, speaks of his exit.

After winning two league titles and the Champions League trophy with FC Barcelona, Maxi Lopez is leaving the Catalan giants for Russia where the player will hope to transfer his experience in the top of the top flight football in Spain and Europe to the Moscow outfit. Maxi still has his heart and emotions set in Camp Nou even though his days in the Blaugrana are over. Maxi Lopez said:

Barça will always be in my heart because the club gave me the chance to play in Europe for the first time. I am leaving a great club, a hard-working squad and friends that shown me a lot of support. I have made many friends here and it has been brilliant. The fans have always supported me too and I will always remember that.

Asked if he felt he didn't see enough action at Barcelona, Maxi replied:

During my stay in Barcelona, I always gave everything. I have learned a lot as there are so many experienced players here. I am always positive and do not the word negative in my vocabulary. Playing here has allowed me to fulfil a dream. I have had the chance to live through some amazing times as part of a humble group of superstars.

Speaking on the circumstances surrounding his transfer, Maxi Lopez revealed that:

We had to sit down and consider what was best and easiest for myself and for both clubs. Moskov wanted me to join very quickly. They are playing for trophies and that attracted me. I want to continue to learn as much as possible.

After Maxi's exit, attention now shifts to three other players in FC Barcelona, namely Eidur Gidjohnsen who is courted by West Ham United, Thiago Motta and Santi Ezquerro who are all set to leave Camp Nou.
