Cameroon's August 22 Japan Friendly not attractive to Barca star, Samuel Eto'o.
Samuel Eto'o is resisting anything that will take the goal master away from Camp Nou and out of the active training schedule in FC Barcelona. This also includes national team obligations which the Cameroonian international is not yet ready to fulfil at the moment, prefering to remain in Spain to develop himself further and blend with the super squad ahead of the challenges of the new season. With the match against Racing Santander scheduled to be played a week from now, Eto'o is due for a match in Japan with the Cameroonian national team three days before the Santader match and has to make a tough decision, and quick one too. To this dilemma, Eto'o says:

I am trying to reach an agreement in order not to make this journey. I returned from the tour of Asia not long ago and I would not be happy if I had to go back so soon because of the problems of jet lag and fatigue. If in the end there is no agreement then I will go, I will play and when I come back I will be available to Frank Rijkaard is I am in the right condition.
Eto'o is happy with his performance at the pre-season, where the striker emerged as the player with the most number of assists, and also capping it up with a beautiful goal against Mission Hills XI. His injuries worries are now over:

The injury is gone. Next month will be a year since I suffered my injury and I am improving all the time. After a knee injury, it is difficult to return to your best, but I have had a good pre-season and am not far from being back to it now.
Samu is confident that Barca will return to its top positin in both Spain and Europe, as he discards fears of any counter results:

I have no fears. The other teams do not worry me, I only worry about my team. If we have the same desire that was here when I joined the club then everything will be perfect. We have a great squad with some strong players in every position and not only in attack. Until now we have played games in pre-season where the objective is to find out best form. We have done well up until now, but playing in the league is not the same. There is something extra there. The game against Racing Santander will be completely different.
