Manchester United battle to either keep Heinze or to ferry the Argentine star to Spain.

Manchester United has been working hard behind the scenes to prevent a potential move to arch rivals Liverpool by their star Argentine defender, Gabriel Heinze. The talented defender is not too keen on remaining in Old Trafford this season, anf has had some running comments from fans since Gabriel indicated his intention to leave Man U. One of the strategies Manchester United have employed to counter Heinze's move to Liverpool FC is to offer him at a subsidized price to FC Barcelona, or to Real Madrid, should the Barca deal not work out. Barcelona, who are already over-brimming with stars in every department, initially had Gaby in their transfer books, but had to cool off when negotiaitions were not going consistently. Long time interest, Eric Abidal was signed instead, as well as other defenders which included another Gaby, this time, fellow Argentine, Gaby Milito. Man U are offering Heinze to Barca for 10 Million Euros, while nudging Real Madrid to look their direction.
