French and former Arsenal FC teammate of Thierry Henry has no fears about the Barca star shinning.


Former Arsenal inspirational player, Robert Pires is looking forward to commencing the new football season by starting for a Spanish clubside, after his arrival from the English premiership last season. Although Pires played for Villarreal, the French satr never started the season well due to injury problems, which he has successfully gotten out of and received healing. Pires is confident of the abilites possessed by his compatriot and former partner in Arsenal FC, Thierry Henry. Be it in Monaco, Arsenal or FC Barcelona, Pires doesn't doubt Thierry Henry's abilities for a second, saying:

For sure, Henry knows that there is strong competition with Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Messi. I am not sure that he knows what the word bench means, but it will not be a problem at all though. Spanish football will see the best of Henry and I am sure of that because I have always said that he is suited to his league and with the quality he has and the team he is with, all the ingredients are there.

Pires expresses joy for his country man and says the is of the opinion that Henry will attain very high standards in Camp Nou:

I am very pleased that he is here and I think that he deserved to play for one of the biggest clubs. He was with a big club at Arsenal and has now been lucky enough to sign for Barcelona.
