FC Barcelona's main rivals Real Madrid rely on 80th minute goal to secure victory.
After going down 1-0 at the Bernabeu in the very first minute of the La Liga opening match, Real Madrid recovered from a shocking strike by Atletico Madrid's Aguero to rally round a 2-1 win over their city mates.
A 15th minute equalizer by Raul Gonzalez from a header ensured the first half ended 1-1, and Atletico continued to torture the Spanish defending champions, who also put up stiff opposition to counter all the offensives from their opponents. The saving grace came in the 80th minute when Sneijder was lucky to have had his shot deflected into goal by Atletico's Maxi for the winning goal of the match. Aguero had his last minute shot saved off the line by Madrid's keeper Iker Casillas to ensure victory went to Real.
The second La liga match features another hot favourite, FC Sevilla playing home against Getafe. Already, Getafe have shot into a second minute lead by a Hernandez goal in a night that seems full of early minute embarassment for hot favourites in the very competitive Spanish Primera.
Barca will play their first match away on Sunday against Racing Santander.
