Barcelona's Icelandic star searches for a place this season.
As the transfer window closes, Eidur Gudjohnsen, who is one of the three remaining players yet to be transfered out of FC Barcelona, is being linked with a move to Turkish giants, Galatasaray for a yet to be disclosed amount. Talks have reportedly not yet gotten off to a breakthrough stage, so no figure other than Barca's asking price of 10 Million Euros is being mentioned. Gudjohnsen's injury greatly slowed down the transfer process of the skillful forward, who has scored eight times for Barca, but had a much more successful era in the English Premiership where Gudjohnsen was a household name in Bolton Wanderers and Chelsea FC. Eidur's place in Camp Nou is highly eclipsed with probability of a long time on the bench, not because of injury, but because of preference for strikers like Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o, Lionel Messi, Giovanni Dos Santos and Bojan Krkic. A move to West Ham United could have been sealed long ago, but for the injury sustained by the Icelandic star. Lyon of France also shelved their planned swoop on Eidur after the injury. Gudjohnsen, who was initially courted by Manchester United and Celtic of Scotland, will now have to wait and see how things turn out in the next few days, and soon enough too, as will Thiago Motta and Santi Ezquerro who are also listed for transfer.
